The Operator pays expenses to keep the home open, and the remainder is profit. Successful Operators can build significant wealth while building a better world. In addition to these rules, people who live in these types of houses usually have to work or go to school during the day and must contribute to the home by doing chores. New residents are often encouraged or required to attend daily A.A.
Who Can Live In A Recovery House?
Independent living is difficult and recovery homes offer an attractive alternative to many other housing options. Have you or a loved one completed a substance abuse treatment program or detox? The term “12 Step Program” describes a way to recover from addiction that is based on the model developed by Alcoholics Anonymous. Steps 10 and 11 involve a deeper eco sober house ma examination of the previous steps and the final step is focused on helping others avoid and recover from addiction. Like in drug or alcohol rehab facilities, drugs and alcohol are not allowed in any sober living facilities. Those in a recovery home who are caught with drugs or alcohol or under the influence are often subject to immediate discharge.
Residents of sober homes pay affordable and simple all-inclusive rent payments on a weekly or monthly basis. Our goal is to offer value to Operators that they can’t get elsewhere, or would be inaccessible due to cost. Every Operator has unlimited access to our team, our resources, advice, and support every step of the way. Kate is responsible for the success of our corporate homes. She has extensive experience in serving men and women in recovery, and works directly with residents to support and guide the homes for which our organization is responsible. She brings the experience to our leadership team to improve operations and the way we support our independent Operators. Some sober houses share meals as a community and require shopping and cooking to be done as a home.
In addition, most homes try to keep costs down and rates affordable so residents working part-time or working at minimum wage can afford to live in the home without assistance. Sober living homes may accept residents who are new to the rehab process, but most applicants have gone through a program before applying. This makes sense; residents must be able to stay sober in order to live the sober house. Recovering addicts who have sobriety under their belt and tools to stay clean are more likely to succeed in sober living. Some homes require a minimum of fourteen or even thirty-days’ sober. In most sober living environments, being home by a certain time is mandatory, especially for new residents.
Over time, if a resident has a commitment at school or work, this rule may be adjusted. Our curfews and other house rules can be found in our Resident Handbook.
Sober houses are relied upon by thousands in recovery for support and accountability. Some sober houses, including EcoSoberHouse, ask residents to obtain a sponsor, a homegroup, or both. Reaching and impacting the lives of those in recovery is a difficult Addiction task, but building and running a business in order to do so is even more difficult. This system includes all handbooks, template documents, certification support, software, policies, resident and House Manager resources, and other back-end resources.
In Worcester, Massachusetts, our homes range from $140-$180 per week. Rent usually covers all living expenses besides food and entertainment. Some sober houses charge an initial deposit or fee, and these fees range from $25 to $300 or more.

Sober house Operators fill the gap between treatment and independent living. We lead structured sober houses where men and women in recovery live together as a community and develop the tools and character to live free from substance abuse. Our homes allow for independence, but are guided by a set of recovery-focused house rules, standards, and expectations. Some chart an up-front fee, others charge a deposit, and some don’t charge anything up front.
