Coups threaten to destroy a declining dynasty
Story
With no heir to the massive Lawson cattle station, rival factions in Australia see an opportunity to take over. The series was filmed in the Northern Territory and South Australia in locations so remote they are barely inhabited – let alone shown on screen.
is full of amazing talent and the background is beautiful
Places include the UNESCO World Heritage-listed Kakadu National Park – with special permission from the traditional owners – and Tipperary Station, a real-life, working cattle station so big it has its own airport and school. The plot is believable and easy to follow, but the characters are hard to like.
It was just so hard to root for anyone
It wasn’t until episode 5 that any of them showed signs of redemption. The entire premise of the show is tragedy after tragedy.
Episode 5 brings a reunion of sorts, then bammore tragedy
There are only 6 episodes and maybe episode 6 will tie it all together, but to be honest I was so deeply depressed after the first five episodes that I couldn’t take it There isn’t that much balance between Hope and Despair. It was not an enjoyable watch for me at all.
I only liked it as far as I did because I’m such a fan of some of the cast
