You don’t really get involved in his plight
Story
An anthology series about spectacular crimes or murderers who captured the public’s attention and gained notoriety. Evan Peters [Jeffrey Dahmer] says that when the series began, they had to follow a rule from Ryan Murphy [creator]: that it would never be told from Dahmer’s point of view. “As a viewer, you don’t really sympathize with him.
Seen in Jeremy Vine: Episode #5195 (2022)
You’re more, you know, watching it from the outside.” In many episodes, there is a 3M Command(TM) strip shown in the kitchen of Jeffrey Dahmer’s apartment, at least by 1991. 3M released its first wave of Command(TM) products in 1996. Evan Peters has really outdone himself here.
The cinematography and music were also impressive
His acting was top notch and his portrayal of Dahmer, from his clothes to his expressions, was all perfect, everything perfect, down to the smallest detail. And apart from him, the performances of the other cast members (his father, mother, grandmother, Glenda Cleveland and the victims) were also excellent. The script and storyline were also fine, especially the fact that they didn’t take many creative liberties, which as a result kept the story close to the actual events.
But overall, it’s a must-watch
The only thing I found a little disappointing was the length. The pacing was a little slow, especially in the last few episodes, and I feel the series could have easily been completed in 8 episodes instead of 10. Especially for those who are into the crime genre.
And that’s what makes it unique and interesting
It’s a realistic portrayal of one of the most notorious serial killers in our history, where he isn’t romanticized, but rather those who are inclined to be taken to task.
