Story
CIA agent Joe tries to balance his personal and professional life while trying to strike a balance in the agency’s war on terrorism. Real military advisors helped create a more authentic portrayal of weapons handling, housecleaning, positioning, unit operations, etc. I was compelled to write a review because the script, acting, and action are so good! I am a reviewer and watcher of movies/shows who approach things based on the “glass half full” theory. That means I look at the positives first and the negatives second.
Great acting, dialogue, action!
Either I like it or I don’t. There is always a happy medium. “Lioness” is not only far from average, it has it all! Zoe Saldana is sexy and beautiful and like her boss, played by Nicole Kidman, both are badass women in the US espionage and military. Both are America’s defense against global terrorism.
They were both equal parts
It is also helpful to the viewer that even though it is a cable series (Paramount), it has a big movie budget. The production team does not waste their budget, but rather “streamlined, practical and flawless execution of production value”. As I mentioned in the title, it has all the excitement of “24”. and “Columbiana”! Remember that TV show and movie?
As a parent, I understand
I don’t mind the family problems and teen drama. It works well for me. I keep thinking that the terrorists will get to Jo’s (Zoe Saldana) family. (I hope not, but I can see how it will happen) Of course, I haven’t finished the series yet. I shouldn’t be writing this review either.
“The Lioness” is very good and I highly recommend it
This is one of the first reviews I have done and I have no complaints about the content. My other reviewers of earlier classics and well-made movies/TV shows are obvious. I haven’t checked, but I really want a second season of “The Lioness”!!!
